Hello! I have socks on the brain. I have (since my last post) recieved my first Rockin’ Sock Club Shipment, knit almost an entire pair of ankle socks (I’m knitting the toe right now), and knit an entire Monkey sock in a day and a half. And, for once I have pictures of all three! That hardly ever happens!
First up, the pair of Breeze socks. I knit these using Socks That Rock Lightweight in the color Socktopus.
Since taking this picture this afternoon, I have knit almost the entire toe. I hope to finish that tonight, so that I can add another pair of socks to my completed projects list. I loved working with the Socks that Rock on this project. Using it on the 2’s was a difference. The fabric is much more suited for a little bit warmer weather, such as March. I would not have been able to wear them today, since it didn’t go above freezing all day long.
The second thing I got in the mail was my first Rockin Sock Club shipment!!!!!!!!! The color is called Dragon Dance, and it is many different reds, from salmon to rust. Here’s a picture:
The pattern it came with is called Serendipity. I love the pattern, but I am not sure how much I love it with this yarn. I have knit down to the heel on the first sock, but I think that I may frog it and use the yarn for a different pattern. I can’t decide. I love the pattern and I am condering using it for my skein of Grawk. But I don’t know about the pattern with this yarn. Any ideas?
The other sock that I have been working on is the Monkey sock! Oh my. I knit the first sock in a day and a half. You know that it’s a good pattern when I will knit it in a day and a half. Again, I am using Socks that Rock Lightweight in the color Jingle Bell Rock. Here is a picture of the first sock completed:
I am in mad love with this sock. I changed certain things in the pattern. I knit the sock on 1.5’s instead of 2’s, and I knit the purls, because I hate purling at the beginning of a needle. I knit this sock on DPNs. I like the 2 circular method, but decided to put my Harmony DPNs to work again. I feel silly spending $35 on the set, and only using them twice, so I am going to be using them.
Just a comment, my dad is leaving for Isreal for two weeks on Sunday. Please think about him. This worries me. He’s going with a big group that has tour people, and I am sure that they will be safe, but I am still worried about him going!

They are lovely.
I like the Serendipity pattern, but not so much with the Dragon Dance. I think it would look really good in one of the Raven colors.
And I LOVE how fast the monkey socks knit up…. I made 2 pairs within a few days leading up to Christmas.
Beautiful socks! I wish I had some…
